How to clean Hunting Breeches |
WEARING BESTBOOTS BREECHESTo ensure maximum comfort · The horizontal seam below the knee (known as the small seam) should be pulled up fully so that it lies at the narrowest part of the leg just below the back of the knee (known as the small) and well above the calf · The long seam on the outside of the thigh must cross over the front of the leg above the knee and pass just to the INSIDE of the knee cap. This seam should not pass over the knee cap. · Below the knee the long seam must continue down the inside of the leg about ¾” to 1” away from the front of the shin bone to avoid discomfort on the shin bone CLEANING BESTBOOTS BREECHESAs soon as possible upon return from hunting · Fasten the Velcro at the bottom of the legs so that the “rough” hook side is fully covered to prevent it catching on the fabric of the breeches during washing. Do up any zips and clips. · Fill a washing bowl with luke warm water (not hot) mixed with Bio-tex stain removing powder · Put the breeches in the bowl making sure that the worst stains are fully underwater · Leave for at least 2 hours, 4 hours is better. They will do no harm if left overnight · After soaking, take the breeches out of the bowl · Using a fairly soft nail brush rub over any muddy stains and they should lift off · Use Vanish stick with your nail brush on any stubborn stains · Wash in the machine on the 30 degree cycle (no hotter) using your usual detergent There will be only very little shrinkage and a good clean result if you adhere to these instructions. |
